EDDYCHEK 610

Up to ten completely independent test channels and the patented, fully digital signal processing of the new EDDYCHEK 610 ensure the flexibility required for mastering future test requirements.

Thanks to the modular architecture with up to 6 freely configurable eddy current modules and a generous number of freely configurable inputs and outputs, later extensions and any adjustments to increasing customer requirements can be realized easily.

The new EDDYCHEK 610 and its future-oriented technology for eddy current based semi-finished product testing guarantee a sustainable security of investment.

EDDYCHEK 610 meets diverse test requirements. Classic crack testing with encircling coil in combination with fast rotating system and automatic distance compensation, as well as complicated material mix tests or the welding seam check. Marking and sorting equipment control as well as integration into a system control are included in the standard equipment version. All control information is available regardless of production speed and requested signal resolution.

The intuitive user interface provides easy control of the numerous options. Modern interfaces allow operation and access to all test information in the network.

Periodic defects caused by damaged rollers are recognized and the damaged component may be identified, giving all of the necessary data. Also, EDDYCHEK 5 alerts you to potential problems with the process or billet quality when the sensors identify a rise in random material and process defects. When networked to a central control panel, the testing system can be operated entirely by remote control: test parameters are prepared in advance and downloaded for each coil or batch when needed.

The system consists of the EDDYCHEK 5 eddy current tester, the optional EDDYTREND trend analysis software, and a water-cooled, robust test coil and holder.

EDDYCHEK 5 TMI offers a cost-effective inline inspection method for welded austenitic tubes, where ultrasonic inspection is not applicable. A specially developed external probe finds any defects on the weldseam throughout the entire wall-thickness during the production process.
As an additional benefit, the EDDYCHEK 5 TMI testing unit helps the operator monitor the ongoing production process andimmediately alerts him to any quality problems that occur. TMI can help you cut down drastically on costs arising from expensive after-production inspection methods such as X-ray or borescopes.

EDDYSENSOR is a very basic eddy current sensor that steps in when other sensors such as proximity switches and light barriers fail to do the job. To mention just a few applications:
  • When annealing, EDDYSENSOR detects cracks in material entering an annealing unit to prevent unwanted gas flow.
  • In mantling processes, it detects the joints connecting the individual tubes under the mantling for cutting.
  • In strip galvanizing, it locates the butt welds linking the sheet metal strips.
